POLFISH 2009 – Brokerage Event for fish industry

The International Fair of Fish Processing and Fish Products POLFISH is the only fair devoted to fish industry in Poland and one of the largest event in Central and Eastern Europe. The event is organized every two years under the patronage of the Minister of Agriculture and Rural development.

The POLFISH Fair is the only meeting-place in Poland for the representatives of the entire Polish fish processing industry and the representatives from all over the world, especially from Europe.

Processing companies and raw material suppliers are the most strongly represented sector at the POLFISH Fair. The second group of exhibitors in terms of the number is the sector which presents comprehensive equipment and auxiliary materials for fish processing: processing equipment, metal and plastic packaging solutions, fish product additives, hygiene products. The next groups are: fish cutter owners and the suppliers of fishery devices and equipment, scientific institutes, trade organisations and the press.

The companies which take part in the Fair mainly come from the countries of Europe. Exhibitors from abroad make up 40% of the participants, the most strongly represented firms being from: Great Britain, Italy, Norway, Spain, Vietnam,

Denmark - the exporters of pelagic fish, salmon and gadid fish, as well as fish processing companies and the suppliers of new technologies and equipment.

On this occasion, during the 10 edition of the Fair, Center of Technology Transfer, partner of Enterprise Europe Network is organizing an international brokerage event covering the topics of the Fair, such as:

1. Fish, seafood and fish products: fresh, frozen, canned, processed and value-added, supplements, others
2. Fishing: equipment for fishing, machinery and technology for storying and processing, harbours, shipingyards and fishing boats
3. Fish farming: feeds for fish, machines and equipment for fish farming, fish farms
4. Machines and equipment for fish processing: machines, tools, systems and software
5. Packagings: materials, machines, systems and software, ready made packagings
6. Refrigerating equipment
7. Cleaning and disinfecting equipment and agents
8. Measurement and laboratory equipment
9. Services: land transport and shipping, design and construction, consulting and advising, researches

The brokerage event will take place on 16 and 17 of June 2009 in hall number 5 at the exhibition ground of Gdańsk International Fair Co.
