The debate

We are pleased to inform you that the next TRAKO fair, widely acknowledged as one of Europe’s leading rail events, will take place from 14 to 16 October 2009 in Gdańsk.

The opening debate, which will take place on 14 October, will focus on this year’s most burning issue, the global economic and financial crisis, and its particular implications for rail: “Railway investment as a solution to ease the economic crisis”. The debate will feature a number of decision-makers from international railway organisations and European Union institutions alongside representatives of the Polish Transport Ministry and local

governments.

Together with these panellists, we would like to invite CEOs from European railways and give them the opportunity to compare the concrete measures implemented by each country to fight the crisis and

assess what influence these measures have had on the situation of European railways.
